List Of Active Fault Lines In The Philippines
- Marikina Valley Fault (Montalban, San Mateo, Marikina, Pasig, Taguig, Muntinlupa, San Pedro, Binan, Carmona, Santa Rosa, Calamba, Tagaytay, Oriental Mindoro)
- Western Philippine Fault (Luzon Sea, Mindoro Strait, Panay Gulf, Sulu Sea)

- Southern of Mindanao Fault (Moro Gulf, Celebes Sea)
- Central Philippine Fault (Entire Ilocos Norte, Aurora, Quezon, Masbate, Eastern Leyte, Southern Leyte, Agusan Del Norte, Agusan Del Sur, Davao del Norte)
Of these, the MARIKINA VALLEY FAULT poses the greatest danger because it cuts through all the modern and progressive portions of Manila such as Eastwood, Rockwell, Ortigas Center, Bonifacio Global City, Ayala Center, and Alabang. Also, the PhiVolcs people have warned that this fault line can move anytime because it is already “11 years late” for its movement.
*The earthquake that destroyed Guinsaugon is the Central Philippine Fault
*The 1990 earthquake that destroyed Central Luzon and Baguio is also the Central Philippine Fault.
Minimizing power consumption at home by just 10 percent is already a big deal when it comes to fighting the effects of climate change.
This is just one of the many ways Filipinos can do to help the environment. They can also join the symbolic 60-minute lights off during Earth Hour on March 26, according to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
Since its inception in 2007, Earth Hour has captured the world’s imagination by becoming a global phenomenon. Earth Hour 2010 inspired 1.3 billion people in over 4000 cities to join the 60-minute switch off. At least 15 million Filipinos in 1076 cities, towns and municipalities joined in – earning the country the top global spot in terms of participation – for a second year in a row.
On March 26, 2011, WWF is again staging Earth Hour to inspire millions of Filipinos to switch off their lights from 8:30 – 9:30PM. 2011 marks a key difference from past switch-offs, for the focus shall be on what transpires beyond the hour itself. With climate change issues becoming more critical, WWF-Philippines is going beyond Earth Hour by launching a year-long climate change information and education campaign for Filipinos to live by Earth Hour’s carbon-friendly principles not for 60-minutes – but for the rest of their lives.
Help us spread the word to again ensure that the Philippines comes out on top. Through your most crucial support, we look forward to another victorious hour!
My sophomore year in high school has just finally ended. And I’m really looking forward to spend my summer with rediscovering myself more. Although I did not have so much fun with this school year , I had good grades and with that I’m contented….
WELCOME JUNIOR YEAR!!!
